FiteraCreator apps

Which fitness influencers have their own apps, and who built them?

By Max Litvinov, founder of Fitera
Updated · Checked Sep 2026 · 12 min read

Kayla Itsines (Sweat, built by PixelForce), Whitney Simmons (Alive, Canvas Creative) and Joe Wicks (The Body Coach, ustwo and Novoda) have custom apps. Studio Bloom runs on Uscreen, Rachel Henley uses Everfit, and Plankk publishes Lyzabeth Lopez's app. The pattern: most sell under the creator's own name or company, but only 3 of 9 custom builds name their builder.

This page is for creators who want their own app and want to see how others in fitness got theirs. It is also a reference: every app links to its store listing or the builder's own page.

The pattern

The best-known apps are custom builds, mostly under the creator's own company, and 6 of those 9 don't name their builder. Others use a builder, a course platform or a coaching platform, and a few hand the listing to a partner or a marketplace.

18 creator apps: route, builder and seller

The seller is the company Apple shows on the listing. It tells you whose account the app is published under, not who wrote the code.

Disclosure

Fitera builds and runs branded apps for a share of revenue. Dense Club, which we built, is in the partner section, not in this table. Each app's card below links to its store listing and the builder's own page.

"Not public" means we found no agency case study or credit, only the seller name. Count: 9 custom builds, 1 builder app, 3 course-platform apps, 2 coaching-platform apps and 3 partner or marketplace apps. Prices, evidence and store links are in each app's card below.

Whose name is on the store listing?

The seller's account holds the listing and its ratings. If the store accounts are in your name, the listing stays in your account. Whether members' subscriptions survive a move depends on the platform's terms.

Whose name is on the listing, by routeFrom the 18 apps above and each vendor's own pages. Checked 14 Sep 2026.

For each route, whose company is named as seller on the store listing and what the record shows about leaving
RouteSeller on the listingWhat happens when you move
Custom build The creator's own company on 7 of 8 live apps. Centr lists CH Digital Pty Ltd, and HighPost Capital bought Centr in 2022. The app is a company asset that can be sold, as Sweat and Centr were.
Builder or course platform The creator's own company on all 4 Studio Bloom and Find What Feels Good changed platforms and kept App Store listings from 2018 and 2015. Uscreen provides no source code.
Coaching platform The creator's company (Everfit) or own name (Exercise.com). Henley's older Trainerize Android app is published by "CBA-Pro1". Cancel Trainerize and the branded app "will be deactivated" (Trainerize).
Revenue-share partner Plankk Media Inc., which publishes 15 creator apps on one account Not published by Plankk
Marketplace Playbook Technologies Inc. Creators get a channel in its shared app. After you leave, the channel runs for 12 months, then is deleted (creator agreement).

Most creators on this list chose their own listing, even on a builder or course platform. Kajabi's help centre says the app is listed "under your own brand and name". Its FAQ doesn't say what happens to the listing if you cancel.

It's super important to own your content and own your business on a platform like Kajabi versus just having a social media platform.

Partners and marketplaces: Plankk, Playbook and us

Revenue-share partners build and run an app for a share of revenue, with no upfront fee. On Playbook, a marketplace, creators get a channel inside one shared app.

Creators switch routes

An app is not a one-time choice. Five creators on this list moved platforms or ran two at once.

  1. Oct 2015

Find What Feels Good goes on the App Store

Adriene Mishler's app launched on Vimeo OTT and later moved platforms. Who runs it today isn't public.

  2. Jun 2020

    Studio Bloom moves to Uscreen

Brooke Cates left Vimeo OTT for Uscreen. Her App Store listing dates from May 2018 and is still live.

  3. Feb 2023

    Nick Bare launches BPN Training

A free app from Bare Performance Nutrition, the company he founded, after more than a year of work.

  4. Nov 2024

Rachel Henley adds an Everfit app

It sells under Henley Fitness Ltd. She also has an older Trainerize Android app, published by "CBA-Pro1".

  5. Sep 2026

BPN Training is gone from both stores

Its App Store and Google Play pages return 404 on 14 Sep 2026. His programmes sell on Playbook now.

  6. Date not public

Dana Linn Bailey moves to Playbook

Her subscriptions moved from her website to Playbook, which now bills her members.

We've spent over a year developing BPN Training and couldn't be happier to offer it to members for free.

Nick Bare, BPN press release, 14 Feb 2023. The app is no longer listed.

What this means for your own app

Match the route to what you sell, your audience and your budget. The creators above cover every route.

A video library
A course platform, like Studio Bloom on Uscreen or Jenny J Fitness on Kajabi. The Kajabi branded app costs $378 to $499 a month.
1:1 coaching
A coaching platform, like Rachel Henley on Everfit. Everfit keeps your own listing for 500+ clients, while Kahunas has one from $99 a month: see Trainerize alternatives.
A big budget
An agency, like Sweat's or Alive's. ScienceSoft prices a fitness first version from $50,000. See what a fitness app costs.
No upfront budget
A revenue-share partner or a marketplace. Check whose name goes on the listing: Plankk's apps sell under Plankk, and Playbook gives you a channel.
Still choosing
Our guide to creating your own fitness app compares all four routes on cost, time and ownership.

Fitera works with creators from about 20,000 followers with high engagement, and we talk to each one in person first. You keep 50% to 70% of net revenue, with no upfront fee. See how it works, or apply with the 2‑minute form.

Questions creators ask

Which app builder do fitness influencers use?

4 of the 18 apps here run or ran on a builder or a course platform: Passion.io, Kajabi, Uscreen and, at launch, Vimeo OTT. The best-known apps are custom instead. PixelForce built Sweat, and Canvas Creative built Alive.

Who built the Sweat app?

PixelForce, an agency in Adelaide, per its case study. The same page says Sweat co-founder Tobi Pearce is now a strategic investor in PixelForce. The seller on the listing is The Bikini Body Training Company Pty Ltd.

Can I build an app like Sweat?

Yes, though Sweat took an agency. PixelForce says Sweat's first version took 4 months, and ScienceSoft prices one from $50,000. A builder or a revenue-share partner costs less up front: what a fitness app costs compares the routes.

Do I need my own App Store account?

Yes, if you want your company's name on the listing. Apple charges $99 a year and Google Play $25 once. An installable web app, like Dense Club today, needs neither.

Do fitness influencers make money from apps?

Yes, say the platforms that host them. Uscreen claims $1M+ a year for Studio Bloom, and Passion.io claims $37.5k a month for Fit In Twenty. Jenny Jaucian told Kajabi she was making "zero money" from 720,000 TikTok followers.

Sources and method

We read each app's seller name and release date from its App Store listing and Apple's lookup API, on 14 September 2026. Android package names and install bands come from Google Play. Builders are named only where the builder's own case study, the listing or the package name shows it.

Revenue and subscriber numbers from a vendor are marked as that vendor's claim. Press reports are marked with the outlet. We left out Instagram counts, which we couldn't check, and one partner's creator claims we couldn't verify.

Product names are trademarks of their owners. No creator or vendor paid for or reviewed this page.
